Silk Lantern Presents “The Tales of Silk Route”: A Ramadan Dining Journey in Dubai
This Ramadan, Silk Lantern presents “The Tales of Silk Route”, a dining experience inspired by the ancient Silk Route that once connected East Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean through trade, travel, and shared culinary traditions. The concept draws from the stories of merchants, caravans, and travellers who carried spices, recipes, and techniques across borders, shaping the food cultures we know today.
Running from 18th February to 18th March, the Ramadan experience reflects this journey through a carefully curated menu that brings together Pan-Asian flavours, Mediterranean influences, and classic Ramadan favourites, all designed for sharing in the spirit of togetherness.
The Pan Asian selections pay homage to the eastern stretch of the Silk Route, featuring dishes such as Stir-Fried Lamb with Celery, BBQ Chicken Buns, Kung Pao Jackfruit and Alleppey Prawns Curry offering bold flavours balanced with comforting familiarity. Moving westward along the route, the menu introduces Mediterranean inspired dishes including Hummus, Labneh, Baba Ghanoush and Lamb Kibbeh, reflecting the culinary traditions shaped by centuries of cultural exchange.
Rooted in Ramadan traditions, the experience features cherished Iftar favourites including crispy Mixed Vegetable Pakora and aromatic Biryanis, offering a sense of comfort and familiarity. Each Iftar begins with dates, nuts, and fruits, accompanied by laban and rooh afza placed on every table, honouring the customary way of breaking the fast.
Guests can enjoy a sharing style Iftar menu priced at AED 129 per person, available from sunset until 9:00 PM, or opt for a Suhoor sharing menu at AED 149 per person, served from 9:00 PM until midnight. For larger gatherings, buffet menus are available for groups above 30 guests, while smaller groups can enjoy curated sharing menus.
The ambience completes the experience, with warm lighting, traditional Ramadan lantern décor, and soft Asian instrumental music blended with oud, creating a calm and reflective setting ideal for corporate gatherings and community Iftars.
Through food, ambience, and storytelling, “The Tales of Silk Route” at Silk Lantern brings together flavours and cultures that have travelled centuries, offering a Ramadan dining experience rooted in heritage, connection, and modern hospitality.
