Anis Sajan, Vice Chairman of Danube Group and fondly known as Mr. Cricket UAE, celebrated the Indian women’s cricket team’s historic World Cup victory with the Danube women’s team at the Danube Headquarters in Dubai. The celebration was filled with excitement, pride, and joy as the Danube clan came together for a memorable time featuring a cake-cutting ceremony, a fun cricket quiz, energetic dance performances and cheers. 

Speaking on the occasion, Anis Sajan reflected on how the victory marked a defining moment for cricket and for women in sports. “Back in 1983, when India won the World Cup, it sparked a cricket revolution across the nation. Since then, cricket hasn’t just been a sport, it has become a religion in India. Out of 1.4 billion people, nearly 90 percent eat, live, and breathe cricket. Now, with the women’s team winning, the game is about to reach an entirely new level. Every young girl will now dream of becoming the next Harmanpreet, Smriti, Deepti, or Jemimah. Just like when India won in 1983, even Sachin dreamt of becoming Kapil Dev. After what we witnessed yesterday, it is clear this isn’t just about cricket anymore. It is about women rising in sports, breaking barriers, and inspiring millions.”
